Why should I use
sport psychology?
As the margins between success and failure in sport are becoming increasingly narrower, training the mind is increasingly becoming the way in which athletes, coaches and clubs gain a mental edge over their competitors. This is because Sport Psych' support is robustly found to improve both performance and wellbeing.
Why Training
& Therapy?
We brand our therapeutic support as training to reflect how sport psychology is increasingly being incorporated into sports clubs and organisations as part and parcel of the training environment.

We understand that some people may be put off by the word "therapy" but, in reality, this is just a way to describe how we structure our chats to give them direction and purpose.
While it might sound a little drastic on paper, you probably wont even notice that we're doing it - you'll just be chatting away with your practitioner, working in partnership to find ways to improve your performance and wellbeing.
Short & Long Term Results
We typically use a combination of short and long term strategies to meet your needs.

Essentially, we prioritise developing mental skills which will help you in the long run. While we work on those skills, we won't see you stuck for strategies that provide some short term relief.

Because we tailor our programs to meet your unique needs, this looks different for each athlete, however, you'll find our most frequently adopted methods of support below...
Acceptance Commitment Training (ACT)
ACT is a hands-on process involving practical learning. We avoid those boring, lecture-like sessions that you see on TV. We accept that you are the expert of your experiences as we guide you through them, discovering life-enhancing solutions as we go.

The goal of ACT is to give you the skills and knowledge you need to "unhook" from thoughts & feelings. This frees you up to ACT in a way that allows you to pursue the sporting career and life you desire. We call this freedom "psychological flexibility”.
